FASHION WEEK

The beginning of May was Fashion Week here in Sydney, with our Darlinghurst showroom became a hub throughout the week. Here we hosted back-to-back appointments with retailers, editors, stylists and friends of the brand.

Across the week, it was incredibly special to see so many stylists, creators and #MAISONgirls wearing MAISON ESSENTIELE throughout the city. A few clear favourites emerged: the Penny Lane Jacket, Aviation Bomber, Silk Fringe Skirt, Scoop Neck Tank and Kimono Trench were spotted everywhere from front rows to after-hours dinners.

The collection was also spotted across Fashion Week street style coverage from publications including Vogue Australia, ELLE Australia, Fashion Quarterly and more. Seeing the pieces interpreted and styled by so many different women is always our favourite moment at MAISON ESSENTIELE HQ (don’t forget to tag us- we love seeing how you style our pieces).

IN CONVERSATION WITH STYLE-ISH

One of the highlights of the month was co-hosting an intimate event with Style-ish.

I joined Rhiannon Joyce, co-host of Style-ish for a live conversation in Sydney, discussing the realities of building a fashion brand, creativity, entrepreneurship and the evolution of MAISON ESSENTIELE.

Connecting with our community offline continues to be one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and we’re grateful to everyone who joined us for the evening.

INTRODUCING PRE-FALL’26

We also unveiled our latest Pre-Fall collection - and it’s quickly become one of our favourites to date. Drawing inspiration from vintage references, effortless tailoring and the kind of pieces that become part of your everyday wardrobe, the collection feels both nostalgic and modern at the same time.

From elevated essentials to statement outerwear, every piece was designed with longevity in mind - intended to be worn now, layered later, and loved for years to come. The response so far has been incredible, and we love seeing how you’re styling it.

NEW SEASON

Pre Fall ‘26 introduces a new series of silk dresses, lace, denim and outerwear - pieces designed to feel effortless but considered, and as always - designed to mix and match. This season there’s a strong focus on texture and contrast: soft silk against structured tailoring, vintage-inspired lace alongside washed denim and heavier outerwear.

OUTERWEAR
This season introduces a larger collection of outerwear, including two MAISON HQ favourites: the Double Breasted Trench Coat and Aviation Bomber Jacket with a funnel neck. The collection also marks the arrival of the Kimono Trench: inspired by our signature Kimono, reimagined in a cream silk wool blend with a detachable Silk Fringe Scarf. Seen throughout Australian Fashion Week, #MAISONgirls styled the piece layered over our Scoop Neck Tank and Straight Leg Pant for a more coordinated approach to dressing.

Alongside the collection launch, we’ve introduced new colourways in our Penny Lane Jacket, now available in silver, dark chocolate and a two-tone black with cream shearling. You can read more on my substack HERE around the inspiration behind this piece - but after selling out twice and being our best seller for 14 weeks in a row, this one is here to stay.

We’ve also expanded the category with the introduction of the Penny Lane Coat, designed with a longer silhouette and a shearling trim rather than just on the collar: not only is she chic, she is warm.

FRINGING

Last season we introduced our Lace Fringe Scarf and Silk Chiffon Fringe scarves. Becoming quickly a favourite, we have designed our new Silk Fringe Scarf: sold both on its own, and as a detachable tie detail to our Kimono Trench.

Layer with our Almond Neckline Maxi, a blazer, or even a tank and silk pants: it elevates any outfit.

LACE

From our inception, lace has long been part of the MAISON ESSENTIELE wardrobe. Inspired by vintage lingerie and nightgowns, and reworked each season with new silhouettes, shapes and lace patterns. This season, we’ve added to knitwear - with lace trimming on our wool blend Lace Knit: a new favourite in our wardrobes.

Many years ago we launched the Core Lace Maxi - and after many requests, we have brought her back. The collection also introduces new iterations of our best-selling Deconstructed Lace Top, the Deconstructed Lace Dress arrives in both Silver and Black, and the Lace Inlay Dress, made with 100% silk with lace cut outs.

Throughout the collection, lace appears across both familiar signatures and new silhouettes such as the Lace Trimmed Cami and Tank. Inspired by you, the style was designed to be layered beneath outerwear, styled back with oversized leather and tailored separates - and as requested, we now also have our own Lace Briefs & Bralettes to layer under your favourite M.E pieces.

SILK

Silk remains at the centre of the collection with the arrival of our Scoop Neck Tank in & Straight Leg Pant a new cream colourway alongside the introduction of the Almond Neckline Maxi, a style quickly becoming a HQ favourite, often worn layered with the Silk Fringe Scarf & Kimono Trench as we move into the cooler months.
